โœ… Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
  • Total Papers: 3 (Civil Law-I, Civil Law-II, Criminal Law)

  • Marks: 100 each (Total: 300 Marks)

  • Duration: 1 Hour per paper

  • Nature: Screening test (qualifying only)

  • No negative marking

  • Candidates three times the number of vacancies are called for Mains

  • Total Papers: 5

    • Civil Law-I โ€“ 200 Marks

    • Civil Law-II โ€“ 200 Marks

    • Criminal Law โ€“ 200 Marks

    • English Composition โ€“ 150 Marks

    • Hindi Language โ€“ 100 Marks

  • Duration: 3 Hours per paper

  • Minimum Qualifying:

    • 40% in each law paper and English

    • 33% in Hindi paper

โœ… Viva Voce (Interview)
  • Total Marks: 150

  • Minimum Qualifying: 45%

  • Evaluates legal reasoning, ethics, communication, and suitability for the judiciary


๐ŸŽ“ Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
  • Must possess a degree in law (LL.B.) from a recognized university

  • Must be eligible to enroll as an Advocate under the Advocates Act

Age Limit (as of 5 January 2025)
  • Minimum Age: 22 years

  • Maximum Age: 35 years

  • Age Relaxation:

    • SC/ST/OBC (of Himachal Pradesh): +3 years

Other Requirements
  • Indian citizenship

  • Sound health and good moral character

  • Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh

  • Minimum Qualifying: 45%

    • Communication and ethical standards

  1. Preliminary Exam: Qualifying only

  2. Mains Exam: Marks used for shortlisting

  3. Interview: Final merit prepared based on Mains + Interview

  4. Document Verification & Medical Fitness: Before appointment
