✅ Preliminary Examination (Screening Test)

• Type: Objective-type MCQs

• Total Marks: 100

• Subjects Covered:

  • Civil Law

  • Criminal Law

  • General Knowledge, Mental Aptitude, and Reasoning

• Duration: 1 Hour 30 Minutes

• Qualifying Marks:

• Purpose: Screening for Mains; marks not counted in final merit

✅ Main Examination (Descriptive)

  1. Translation (English ↔ Kannada) – 100 Marks

  2. Law Paper I – Civil Law & Constitution – 100 Marks

  3. Law Paper II – Civil Judgment Writing – 100 Marks

  4. Law Paper III – Criminal Judgment Writing – 100 Marks

Educational Qualification

• Must possess a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from a recognized university

• Must be eligible to practice as an Advocate under the Advocates Act + 3 Year Experience

Age Limit

• General Category: Maximum 35 years

• SC/ST/Reserved Categories: Up to 38 years

• Other relaxations: As per state government norms

Other Requirements

• Indian citizenship

• Good character and physical/mental fitness

• Basic knowledge of computer operations

• Proficiency in Kannada is mandatory
